The History of Angler & Hunter Television

A production of the OFAH

Twenty years ago, members of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) proposed that the OFAH start broadcasting its passion for the outdoors to a new generation of viewers hooked on Saturday morning fishing shows.

OFAH members knew that growing the organization meant reaching out to a wider audience of anglers and hunters. OFAH members knew that having a strong television presence would help bring the OFAH’s conservation message to tens of thousands of homes every single weekend. Those members were right!

In 1993, in a leap of faith, the OFAH made its move to outdoor television “prime time.” Today, Angler & Hunter Television stands out as TV’s most comprehensive outdoors program of its kind – a show that represents OFAH values and cuts to the chase on issues important to anglers and hunters.

In 2010, Angler & Hunter Television was voted Best Fishing Show by Wild TV viewers, and in 2011 the show took home the prestigious Wild TV Grizzly Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2012, Angler & Hunter Television welcomed Mike Miller, one of Canada’s most successful bass anglers to the host and executive producer spot.

The rest is history!
