Road Trip to Lake of the Woods

Mike sets up a bait site for black bear and spends a few days in camp shooting, ATV riding and of course bear hunting with his daughter.

Mike and his daughter August take a summer road trip to Northwestern Ontario, seeing all the sites and enjoying the spectacular fishing on Lake of the Woods at Crawford’s Camp with expert guide Jamie Bruce.

Northern Ontario is the place to be for black bear hunting. Mike takes a 12 yr old apprentice hunter on his first ever bear hunt.

Mike and his daughter August meet up with Ontario fishing legend, Gord Ellis, at the Nipigon River Adventures’ Quebec Lodge and fish for brook trout on the famed Lake Nipigon.

Mike hits the northern hardwoods for a week of deer hunting. This is the 30 year anniversary for the crew at camp and Mike hopes to take a buck with his newly licensed apprentice, August Miller.

Mike and trusty guide SeaBass, of @cottagefishingadventures, try to tackle some early summer musky in the shallow back bays of the mighty Ottawa River.

With winter in full swing the hunting options are limited but Mike shows that crows can be a great quarry and make an awesome meal.

Mike’s daughter, August, is 12 and finally has her hunting licence and nothing would make her happier than taking a deer in her very first bow season.
